CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple CEO Tim Cook announced today that the next-generation iPhone will feature a 75-inch display, calling it “the natural evolution of personal technology and basic furniture.”
Cook said customers have long asked for bigger screens, and Apple is “proud to deliver a phone you can comfortably use from across the room.” The new device reportedly weighs 84 pounds, includes optional wall-mount hardware, and can still “technically fit in your pocket” with the purchase of Apple Cargo Pants Pro, sold separately.
Apple confirmed battery life will last “up to 11 minutes,” though a new charging dock roughly the size of a washing machine can fully recharge the phone in under four hours.
Fans appeared divided but curious, with one Apple user saying, “Honestly, phones were getting too big, but this feels like a reasonable stopping point.”
Preorders begin Friday, with shipping expected within two to three business forklifts.
